Job Position: Taproom Server
Location: Exeter, RI
Pay rate: Based on level of experience
Frequency: Approximately 25-30 hours per week, with potential for additional hours

Tilted Barn Brewery is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our front-of-house team in Exeter, RI. We are a tight-knit but growing company and we are looking for candidates who can grow with us by demonstrating a high capacity to learn, succeed, and take on new challenges. Our taproom is one of the most important aspects of Tilted Barn Brewery. It is where we sell the majority of our beer, interact with our customers every week, and provide a communal gathering location for people both near and far. Our Taproom Servers are our brand ambassadors. You would be responsible for all aspects of customer service for our taproom customers and helping the front-of-house crew operate in the high paced, energetic environment that is our taproom.

Customer Service

• Greet all customers respectfully and kindly, and portray a positive attitude at all times

• Assist customers in their beer selections as needed by providing information about our beer styles, ingredients, and brewing process

• Become familiar with Tilted Barn’s history, story, and ethos and be prepared to answer questions from customers relating to these aspects of the brewery

• Address all customers’ needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner

Bar Service

• Memorize our beer list and be prepared to make recommendations to our guests

• Serve pours in accordance with Tilted Barn’s quality standards and state regulations

• Operate and troubleshoot draft equipment and move/change kegs as necessary

• Organize and restock can shelves and coolers as necessary

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar area

• Restock, organize, and clean merchandise area as needed

• Assist front-of-house team with opening and closing of the taproom

• Assist during private events and special releases as necessary

• Handling cash and processing transactions through our point-of-sale system

• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings as required

• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• 2+ years of experience of relevant work in the hospitality industry

• Passion for craft beer is a must

• Ability to work and communicate well with all staff

• Ability to work under and take direction from your supervisor and management

• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Ability to work in high energy, fast paced environment

• Excellent time management and punctuality

• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to work

• Flexible schedule – must be available to work holidays, nights, and weekends

• TIPS training required by start date

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift

• Ability to move up and down stairs freely

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance
